We from OBOLA want to provide an absolute relief to the victimized creature of God in one hand and to make a Rabies free India and to maintain the equilibrium of the environment so that sustainable development may be possible which will not threat the future generation on the other hand.
OBOLA trust is a philanthropic and non profitable (NPO) organisation. The unconditional crystal clear love towards the stray animal is what has put the entire OBOLA community together.
OBOLA started its journey as an animal feedeing organization founded by Chandra Sekhar Dey, Sujata Dey and Swati Dey under the aegis of the charitable trust OBOLA. Gradually we have started vaccination, health treatment, animal birth control (ABC) programs. Currently we are feeding appox. 500 strays daily, providing 1000 vaccination, health care treatment , rescue injured strays and appox.300 ABC program annually.
We follow the instructions and guidelines of Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI). Our all trustees have ID card provided by AWBI. OBOLA’s operations, programs and services are supported by a staff of more than 10 full- and part-time employees and a team of more than 15 dedicated volunteers. Each of the Volunteers donate more than 4000 hours of their time annually for the noble cause
Now a days cruelty to animals have increased throughout the India, so will be soon filing a case of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) at Honorable Supreme Court of India:
to increase the penalty for animal cruelty so that the perpetrators should be strictly punished.
to provide strict legal protections for the animal feeders, animal lovers , rescuer and well wishers.
We are also facing challenges to perform vaccination, ABC programs, health treatment which are conducted through veterinary camps in different place. Our future plan is to centralise the process by bringing all these animals and conducting these programs smoothly under a suitable place for shelter house of strays and veterinary hospital.
“It is a fact that we should earn money for the welfare of animals, since the animals can not earn money for themselves.” Therefore, it is the social responsibility of every citizen to contribute for the cause. It is believed ‘what you give others, you receive it in return’.
